VISIONARY VIEWERS

Eight engineered viewing devices, that were installed on two sidewalks in Brooklyn and New York in September, 2011. Click on the maps below to find them, or download the app. The aim is to install further devices in the Bronx, Harlem aand Queens, or in sites suggested by viewers (by 2015).

The stereoscopic viewers each contain images of the past and future of that site. In addition they incorporate an interactive feedback feature through an app/barcode.

The future images are created by members of the community through an open call and the historical images are taken from archives. All locations comprise interstital, unused lots, architectural squandrels, leftover spaces.
