Retro Futurist Cell Phones explores visually through a grid project, the magnitude of the mobile phone. These cameraless contact prints made of the screen protectors of real phones, transferred onto wet collodion tintypes as photograms, are displayed in a grid. They showing 100's of mundane seeming phone protectors, usually cracked. Through seeing these mundane objects all together, each different the viewer is forced to contemplate what they already know - that these devices have changed brain development in the young, and forever altered how we interact (or not as the case may be). The protectors present traces of use, referencing the type of phone in a tertiary way.

These images are wet plate collodion contact prints 1:1 of cellphone and i pad protectors. All are collected from electronics stores. Made without a camera each image is unique, 8 × 10 framed in white wooden box frames.
